I am still studying for my chem test as if it was a final, and i still have another test and final comming.  I canceled last weeks star trek night, and may cancel this weeks too, in order to have more study time.  Work has finaly slowed down, i only worked on one car today.  I havnt seen a movie or bought a CD in months.  Life is entirely about school, and im begining to realize that it will be that way for a few years ahead of me.

Hope everyone is having a better thanksgiving day than me.  I have a chem test on Tuesday with a chem teacher that makes casting a shadow look hard. Sarah, i hope, is posting pictures from the fire aftermath while i figure out how to calculate the percentages of chemicals in a gas.  Our feast today will begin at 5, wich is late for me.  Until now, every T day dinner has been around 2, giving us time to settle and talk before desert.  I wonder if people will be watching football too.  I already miss the old days of sitting in grandma’s house talking about making batteries out of saltwater and dodging responsibilities in the clean-up by running up the street to the big steel rocket on the playground.

Here you can see a map of the fire area as of 10:30 am sunday.  My sister in law lives in diamond-bar, and is currently evacuating to my parent-in-law’s place in LA.   Chino Hills state park is toast, I will post pictures of what it used to look like in a later entry so you can see what it was like when we hiked there earlier this year.

It looks like sarahs office is safe, but now its going a new direction.

Sarah will hopefully still have a job monday, a fire is mere blocks away from her office.  A rumor has emerged that Wier Canyon Honda is burned down, but i cannot confirm that.  So, TV sucks tonight, the choices are: fire news, rerun of TMZ, fire news, movie from the 80s, and fire news.

The fire is visible out the kitchen window, but theres too many other lights for a photo to turn out.

For those of you out of state, Its fire season again (thankyou captain obvious) you can see some local news here. The wind is tearing up my yard again and donating suplies not sucurely fastened down.  The source of most of the fires, the Santa Anna riverbed, is a stones throw from my house.  I hate wind.

Last monday at work, A humming bird got trapped in the 20 foot high sky-light at work.  Too far away to reach with our ladder, we were helpless as it buzzed against the glass trying to get out.  by the end of the day, it dropped to the ground.  The Man, assuming all was lost, put it in a shoebox with some water outside.  She didnt move.   I took it over to a warm bench light and tried to nurse it back, but it looked like it was dying.  Trying to find something to help, the best i could come up with was a foil packet of apple juice.  I tried to feed it some, put it back in the shoebox and took it home.

By the time i got home, i was surprised to find it had opened its eyes.  I fed it more apple juice, and suddenly it took off out of the box and buzzed around the house gathering the interest of the cat.   I caught it with the towel and took it outside.  She stayed on my hand for a bit, then took off back out into the wild.

I used to have a Senigal Parot.  Even though this thing was slightly larger than a june-bug, this experience made me miss her.
